Tips For a Smooth Session
WHAT TO WEAR:
Keep it simple
Color coordinate groups, black or white may be best
Avoid wild prints & patterns
CHOOSING LOCATIONS:
Choose a site that matches your personality
Look for locations with natural beauty or architectural interest
Be sure a safe & clean public restroom is available for changing
Make sure professional photography is allowed
Understand if a photography permit is required, the client will be responsible for the cost
MAXIMIZE YOUR TIME:
Come fully prepared, your session is booked by the hour
Arrive with hair/makeup done so you can spend more time in front of the camera
Decide on your outfits before arriving, we can give suggestions prior to the session
Let your photographer know in advance if there are any special needs to be accommodated
Plan and organize groups in advance, knowing what you want will maximize your time
Bring a friend to help you stay organized and to cheer you on
GETTING THE BEST FROM YOUR CHILDREN:
Well-rested & well-fed children make for happy children
Allow the kids to bring a favorite toy that you don't mind being in the photos
With your photographer's guidance, play with the kids to bring out their personalities
Help to capture that natural smile by playing peek-a-boo or telling a joke
Resist the urge to "SAY CHEESE", you'll be much happier with the results
Older children, especially teenagers can be very self-conscious, allow them a more private session
Remember to compliment them on a job well done
Relax and enjoy yourself!
WHEN TO BOOK:
Schedule your session at a minimum of 2-3 weeks prior to needing the photographs
Choose the best time of day for your youngest child, keep in mind naps & snacks
Have distractions ready for when the children finish their photos
Keep in mind that outdoor lighting is usually best in early morning/late afternoon
Cloudy days are better than full sunny days for photography, Go Oregon!
